Congrats to Malvern's Gamp Pellegrini, who was named the Tri-State Coach of the Year!!
December 12, 2006
Maxwell Football Club President, Ron Jaworski, announced the 2006 Mini Max High School Award winners for the Tri-State region. The fifty players selected are from schools located in South Jersey, the five county Philadelphia area and the Lehigh Valley of Pennsylvania.
The Mini Max Award recipients will be honored at a dinner to be held on Thursday January 11, 2007 at the Drexelbrook Catering Ballroom in Drexel Hill, Pennsylvania. The Maxwell Club is proud to announce that for the first time, each of the fifty award winners will receive a $1,000.00 dollar scholarship grant to continue their education at the collegiate level. The scholarship funds for these student athletes have been raised through the kindness of Maxwell Club members and our corporate partners. The new scholarship initiative demonstrates the Maxwell Club’s commitment to promoting football and academic excellence at all levels by providing these deserving student-athletes with funds to help offset the rising costs of a college education. The awards dinner is open to the public and tickets are available on the Club’s website www.maxwellfootballclub.org.
The Maxwell Football Club will select one player from the group of Mini Max winners as the winner of the 22nd Jim Henry Award for the Regional High School Player of the Year. The Jim Henry Award will be announced on January 11, 2007 and the formal presentation of the award will be made at the Maxwell Football Club National Awards Dinner to he held at Harrah’s Atlantic City on March 2, 2007. Recent winners of the Jim Henry Award include Pat Devlin (Downingtown East H.S.), Ryan Greiser (Pennridge H.S.), Dan Connor (Strath Haven H.S.) and Austin Scott (Parkland H.S.). The Jim Henry Award Winner will receive a $6,000.00 scholarship grant from the Maxwell Football Club.
